One Day

“...one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind,” the first lunar landing was truly a giant leap for mankind. It shows us that we, the human race,  is capable of achieving most everything. But, what if.... what if we stood as one? What if we could break our repeated cycle of hostility and unite as one great people? Look at what we have achieved divided, but think about what we could achieve together. United we stand, divided we fall.

World peace can be easily within our grasp, we just have to take that first step towards a new tomorrow. We could achieve so much more, imagine our world free of war, terror, violence. Wayne Gretzky said  “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take,” Right here, right now, it’s our moment... it’s our shot... it’s our first step. We have an opportunity at achieving this great world, this extraordinary paradise, we can’t miss our shot.

Imagine the wonders of the cosmos within our reach, within our grasp. Imagine a vast nation spanning lightyears. I believe... I KNOW... we, the human race, can achieve this. It all begins with one small step. One small step can lead to a great leap for all. One step can start a stampede.

United we stand, Divided we fall.
Together, we are GREAT!
United, we are LEGENDARY!

Our name shall be known across the stars. All it takes is one shot, one step to create this reality.

"...I get by with a little help from my friends,"

Is It OK to Compete With My Friend for a Job?

After reading the short article "Is It OK to Compete With My Friend for a Job?" in the UpFront magazine a couple times, I definitely agree with the author because, in the end, it's your decision and it's how you see your friendship. The author's message was the importance of knowing how you value friendships because "After all, another job will come along. Harder to come by, perhaps, are people to laugh at your offbeat jokes and lend you 10 bucks for lunch,"  In this kind of situation, the "best" decision would be what YOU believe it is and how you value close friendships. Hopefully your friend will wish you well, but if not, you'd have a big choice in front of you. Like the author had said, would you still go through with the job if it means hindering your friendship? Great friends can be hard to come by at times, especially those described in the author's little joke.

To be forthright and completely honest, this short article made me think about friendship and the friendships I've made during my life so far. To be honest again, in this situation, I'm not one hundred percent certain what my choice might be in the future. I personally value friendship very highly, but like I had said before, I'm not sure what I would choose. I enjoy having close friends who help and know me, but still are friends with me even though they do know me. I might be sounding a bit cliché or like one of those loving family shows from the 80s and 90s, but I truly believe that. Overall, I believe this song fits in greatly with my topic because my friends and I have really helped each other and well, we get by with a little help from our friends. :)

It's interesting to think about what the future holds in store for all of us. We'll all be looking for jobs and chances are,
some of us we may very well be in this situation. I wonder what everyone's choice would be.

Something New....

What if you could walk up walls and across ceilings?

I shall express my answer in a *fantabulous* short song:

Spider-Jan, Spider-Jan,
Mostly does what a spider can.
Sadly can't, spin a web, any size.
He truly is a big surprise.
Look out! Here comes Spider-Jan.

Can he climb? Listen pup—
He can simply go on up.
Can he hang from a thread?
He'll just fall on his head.
Look there! There goes Spider-Jan.

Within the dead of night,
Waiting above the window blind,
With a smile of delight,
He drops right behind!

Spider-Jan, Spider-Jan,
Very childish Spider-Jan.
Fun and games, he is known—
He really is a big unknown.
To him,
Everyday is a somewhat big day-out—
Wherever there's some take-out,
You'll find Spider-Jan!

I might change it later on, but I'm happy with it so far. :)
